Direct Admission

Begin at CCV and transfer directly to any ��˿첥 College. Guaranteed.

The ��˿첥 Colleges’ Direct Admissions program gives Community College of Vermont students guaranteed transfer admission to Castleton University, Northern Vermont University or Vermont Technical College.

Fall 2023 will mark launch of the new ��˿첥 University comprised of the best of Castleton, Northern Vermont University, and Vermont Tech.  While we develop the high-impact programs that ��˿첥 University will offer, the ��˿첥 wants to assure students interested in the ��˿첥 Direct Admissions program that this program is available and will continue to be a great option. To that end, students who enroll in the ��˿첥 direct admissions program and complete the appropriate CCV program will have 60 credits worth of credits from that program meet program requirements in a ��˿첥 University bachelor’s degree program. Those students will also continue to enjoy all the other benefits of the program listed below.

Support from a team. By enrolling in the ��˿첥 Direct Admissions program, you’ll have access to customized support from two schools working together for you.
No hoops to jump through. When it’s time to transfer, you won’t need to apply, pay fees, or even have transcripts sent. We’ll take care of that for you.
Test the waters. As a CCV student, you can try out classes at your destination college and still pay the CCV tuition rate (fall and spring only).

Early College

Use your senior year of high school to complete your first year of college tuition free.

Each of the ��˿첥 Colleges hosts this full-year alternative to the senior year in high school. Students take standard college courses to complete their senior year of high school and their freshman year of college simultaneously—tuition free.

Dual Enrollment

High school juniors and seniors are eligible to use public tuition funds for free courses at ��˿첥 Colleges institutions.

The ��˿첥��offers several ways for high school students to earn college credit while still in high school. Successful high school students have earned anywhere from 3 to 18 college credits—reducing the time it takes to get a college degree, reducing the costs associated with college, and challenging themselves through college-level curriculum.

Juniors and seniors attending a public high school, technical center, or an independent school using public tuition dollars in Vermont are eligible for two Dual Enrollment vouchers, each good for one free college course at Castleton University, Community College of Vermont, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College and Vermont Technical College, as well as other participating Vermont colleges. The free credits earned at college also count as credit towards graduation from high school.

The Dual Enrollment Program is made possible through a statewide partnership agreement supported by the State of Vermont’s Next Generation Initiative.

Tech Center College Credits

Students enrolled at career and technical centers can count their coursework towards college credit.

Vermont Technical College Dual Enrollment
Concurrent enrollment courses are taken at a high school or technical center location. Some Vermont high school and technical center teachers have been approved to teach actual Vermont Tech courses. This is an excellent opportunity for students who do not live close to a Vermont Tech campus location, but who have the academic ability to participate in college-level courses and get an early start to college.

Fast Forward
Vermont high school students enrolled in selected partner programs at their local career/ technical center are eligible for Fast Forward Tickets. The tickets let students earn college credit for one or more courses for $100 each and two courses tuition free. Each of the 17 Vermont Technical or Comprehensive High Schools currently have dual enrollment agreements in place or are working on future agreements.��for a listing of Career/Technical Centers in the state and more information on the career pathways available.

Introduction to College Studies

��is a 26-hour, tuition-free course designed to help high school students develop strategies for college success. The course is offered at all 12 Community College of Vermont academic centers every fall, spring, and summer semester, and at other ��˿첥��colleges on a variable basis. With support from VSAC and GEAR-UP, this course is offered tuition free to all Vermont high school students and is the ideal course for high school sophomores to prepare for college courses in their junior and senior years. Developmental Skills Voucher

Thanks to support from VSAC’s GEAR-UP program, CCV is able to offer vouchers to high school students and June 2017 high school graduates for developmental skills courses through the summer 2017 semester. This provides an important bridge to dual enrollment and college for students who need basic skills preparation before taking college-level coursework. Funding is separate from Act 77, so students do��not��need to request a dual enrollment voucher using the web application. Interested high school students should contact their local CCV center to meet with an advisor, select a course, and request a developmental skills voucher.
